A Carnal Christian is a term used in Christian theology to describe a believer who has accepted Jesus Christ but continues to live under the influence of sinful desires or worldly habits rather than being led by the Holy Spirit. The word carnal comes from the Latin carnalis meaning “of the flesh.” In the Bible, particularly in 1 Corinthians 3:1-3, the Apostle Paul addresses believers in Corinth as “carnal” because, although they were Christians, they were behaving in jealousy, strife, and immaturity instead of showing spiritual growth.
