digestive begins in the mouth where food is mechanically digeted by chewing or mastication. there are four type of teeth that break down food in to smaller pieces. the incisors have thin edges and are used for cutting food.the canines are pointed and are for tearing food particulary meat.the boader and bigger premolas and molars are for crushing and grinding food.
as the food is chewed saliva is realeased by salivary glansds, moistening the food for easy swallowing.the saliva also help in the partial break down of the foods
