He is associated with the Direct Path and the teaching of non-duality which speaks of the direct recognition of being as our natural state instead of looking outside ourselves to happiness. Prior to a career as a teacher he was a successful potter, with his works held in the collections of major museums. He was a clear, experiential and non-sectarian teacher who drew upon Advaita Vedanta and Kashmir Shaivism. Since 2008, he has written a number of books on consciousness, self-inquiry, and happiness, and since then has led retreats, satsangs, and online courses around the globe.
