A Review of Related Literature (RRL) about the effects of note-taking in Grade 12 GAS students can focus on how note-taking supports learning. Locally, studies show that students who actively take notes remember lessons better because writing helps them process and organize ideas. For example, note-taking encourages summarizing, which makes long discussions easier to recall. It also trains students to identify key concepts instead of memorizing word for word. Research in some Philippine schools found that students with consistent note-taking habits perform better in tests since their notes serve as study guides. Moreover, note-taking improves focus during class because students listen more attentively. For GAS strand students who often deal with discussions, reflections, and research tasks, note-taking is especially valuable in preparing them for both academic requirements and future work.
