What makes the boat/ship float When infact it's made from solid materials?

A boat or ship floats because of buoyancy, which is explained by Archimedes’ Principle.Even though it’s made of solid materials like steel, a ship is designed with a hollow shape that allows it to displace a large amount of water. When the weight of the water displaced by the ship is equal to or greater than the ship’s weight, it floats. This happens because the upward buoyant force from the water balances or exceeds the downward force of gravity acting on the ship.In short, it’s not just the material that matters—it’s the shape and distribution of weight that make it float.
