Fauvism started around 1905 in France. It focused on using bright, bold, and unnatural colors to show emotions rather than to copy real life. The artists didn’t care much about realistic details. Instead, they wanted their feelings to come through in their work. One famous Fauvist artist is Henri Matisse, and one example of his work is “Woman with a Hat.”Dadaism, on the other hand, began around 1916 during World War I. It was more of a protest movement. Dada artists were reacting to the war and were tired of traditional art and rules. Their works often seemed random, strange, or even silly on purpose. They wanted to challenge what people thought art should be. A well-known Dada artist is Marcel Duchamp, and his artwork “Fountain” (a regular urinal turned into art) is a perfect example.
