When we say Structural Functionalism, it is a theory in sociology that sees society as a system made up of different parts (like family, school, religion, government) that work together to keep society stable and functioning. Now, why we use it to interpret personal experiences:First, for us to see the bigger picture. When we look at our personal experiences through structural functionalism, we begin to understand or to learn how our actions are connected to larger systems (like school, laws, family traditions). For example, If you go to school, it’s not just for your personal growth or use, but we when look deep through it, we realize that it’s part of society’s way to educate us and prepare future workers.Second, for us to understand the purpose of social roles. It helps us explain "why we do what we do" like following rules, going to school, or helping at home etc. It's not just a role but these roles have a function that keeps society organized. For example, being a student like you, you're not just having a role (student) but you also have a function like you also learn different skills to contribute to society later after you graduate. Third one, for use to find meaning and responsibility. It makes us aware that our decisions, choices or behaviors have an effects on other people and society, even if they feel personal. From example, we respect elders or older people this isn’t just a family rule but it helps us to maintain the what we called social order and respect between generations. So when interpreting our personal experiences through structural functionalism, it helps us to see how our life connects to society.
