what is there no change in temperature during a phase change ice to liquid

For ice to change into a liquid, a large amount of energy is required to break the intra-molecular bonds that hold the smaller molecules of water together into a structure called ice.  The energy used in this process does not go into making the individual water molecules vibrate faster.   It all goes to breaking apart the hydrogen bonding forces that make ice a solid.  None goes into increased molecular vibration, known as temperature.
