EDSA Power or People Power was a peaceful revolution in the Philippines in February 1986. It happened on Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (EDSA). People protested against President Ferdinand Marcos because of dictatorship and election cheating. Millions of Filipinos gathered without violence. They prayed, sang, and blocked soldiers and tanks. Because of this, Marcos left the country, and Corazon Aquino became President. It is called People Power because ordinary people showed that they can change the government peacefully.
