When you press a liquid, its shape does not change because a liquid has no fixed shape and takes the shape of its container. However, the pressure inside the liquid increases, and the liquid becomes slightly compressed since liquids are only minimally compressible. In other words, the liquid transmits the pressure equally in all directions according to Pascal’s principle.
