PMDAS is a rule that tells us the order to follow when solving math problems with more than one operation.Each letter stands for a step:P – Parentheses (Do what's inside the parentheses first.)Example: (2 + 3) × 4 = 5 × 4 = 20MD – Multiplication and Division (Do these next, from left to right.)Example: 8 ÷ 2 × 3 = 4 × 3 = 12AS – Addition and Subtraction (Do these last, from left to right.)Example: 10 - 2 + 4 = 8 + 4 = 12
