Title: I Am a SolidHello! I am a solid, and my name is Rocky the Rock! I am different from liquids and gases because I have a definite shape and volume. That means I don’t flow like water or spread out like air. My atoms are packed tightly together, which is why I stay in one form unless someone breaks or crushes me.When people want to measure me, they can use a ruler or tape measure to find my length, width, and height. Multiply those three numbers, and you get my volume in cubic units (like cm³).I can change only when a lot of heat or force is applied to me. If I’m heated enough, I can melt and become a liquid. But that takes a lot of energy!Solids like me are very useful in daily life. People use solids like wood to make furniture, metals to build machines, and bricks to build homes. Without solids, there wouldn’t be buildings, roads, or even your favorite toys.Don’t forget: I stay strong, firm, and always in shape!(Illustrations: a rock, a box, a pencil—all examples of solids)
