RA 10354, or the Responsible Parenthood and Reproductive Health Act of 2012, gives both men and women the right to access reproductive health services. Under this law, employers have specific responsibilities to promote reproductive health and protect the rights of women in the workplace.Employers are expected to:Provide reproductive health services in the workplace. Not discriminate against women in hiring, promotion, or retention based on their reproductive health choices. Respect maternity leave rights and ensure women are not terminated due to pregnancy. Offer information and services about family planning (if applicable in the workplace setting). An example of what is NOT their responsibility would be:Forcing or requiring female employees to use a specific family planning method. This violates the woman’s right to choose and goes against the principle of voluntary reproductive health decisions stated in RA 10354.
