I believe morality should be based more on personal principles because not all social rules are always right or just. Social rules are created by people and can be influenced by power, tradition, or culture, which sometimes include unjust practices like discrimination or corruption. For example, in the past, slavery was accepted in society, but people with strong personal moral principles fought against it. Personal principles are guided by conscience, empathy, and critical thinking, which can challenge harmful norms. However, our principles should also respect others and aim for the common good. A balance is important, but morality that comes from deep personal understanding is more reliable in standing for what is truly right, even when society disagrees.
