They scatter enormous amounts of material into space, and what's left behind is a very dense, small core.Examples are: -A neutron star: an incredibly dense object made mostly of neutrons, formed from the collapse of a massive star's core. -A black hole: if the star was exceptionally massive, the core collapses so completely that its gravity is so strong that nothing, not even light, can escape.
