If I had 1 million dollars, I would first save a portion of it in the bank for emergencies. I would never tell anyone, family nor friends, that I have that much money. Then, I would invest some in a small business or in real estate to grow the money. I would set aside a fixed amount to donate to charity.Once my business takes off, I will start helping family and friends with some of their needs. However, I would limit the financial help to prevent any jealousy or unnecessary drama in my life. Finally, I would spend a small part for personal enjoyment or travel. I would make it a point to never suddenly upgrade my lifestyle just because of my windfall. The people who spend most of their money right away or tell other people about it, are the ones who often find themselves broke and full of problems after a few years.
