Answer:First big thing is burning too much fossil fuels. These are things like coal, oil, and gas. Long time ago, these things were plants and animals. When we dig them up and burn them in our cars, factories, and power plants, they release gases into the air. The most important gas is carbon dioxide (CO₂). This gas is like a blanket around the Earth. It traps the heat from the sun, making the Earth warmer. This is called the greenhouse effect. A little bit is good, it keeps us warm enough to live. But too much blanket makes us too hot, like being under many blankets on a sunny day. We burn so much of these fuels now than ever before, so the CO₂ blanket is getting thicker and thicker.Second thing is cutting down too many trees, especially in big forests like the Amazon. Trees are very important because they absorb CO₂ from the air when they grow. It's like they breathe in the bad air. When we cut down these forests, we lose these natural CO₂ absorbers. Also, when the trees are burned or rot, they release the CO₂ they stored back into the air. So, cutting down trees does two bad things: less CO₂ is taken out, and more CO₂ is put in. This is called deforestation, and it's a big problem.Third thing is agriculture, how we grow our food and raise animals. When we grow rice in wet fields, it releases a gas called methane (CH₄). Methane is also a greenhouse gas, and it's even stronger than CO₂ at trapping heat, but it doesn't stay in the air as long. Also, cows and other farm animals produce methane when they digest their food. The more animals we have for meat and milk, the more methane goes into the air. Using too much fertilizers in farming also releases another greenhouse gas called nitrous oxide (N₂O). So, the way we produce food also contributes to climate change.Fourth thing is industrial processes. Factories make many things we use every day, like plastics and cement. Some of these processes release greenhouse gases directly into the air. For example, making cement releases a lot of CO₂. Also, some industries use special chemicals called fluorinated gases. These gases are very powerful greenhouse gases, much, much stronger than CO₂. Even though they are used in smaller amounts, they can still have a big impact on warming the planet. Things like air conditioners and refrigerators used to use these gases a lot. Now, we are trying to use less of them.Fifth thing, maybe a little less big but still important, is waste. When we throw away our garbage in landfills, it rots. This rotting process releases methane into the air. So, the more waste we create, the more methane is produced. This is why it's important to recycle and reduce the amount of trash we throw away.Sixth thing is changes in the Earth's orbit and the sun. The Earth goes around the sun in a path, and this path can change very slowly over thousands of years. Also, the amount of energy the sun gives off can change a little bit. These natural changes can affect the Earth's climate, making it warmer or cooler over long periods. However, scientists say that the fast warming we are seeing now is mostly because of the things humans are doing, like burning fossil fuels and cutting down trees. The natural changes are too slow to explain the rapid warming we are experiencing. While the Earth and sun can change naturally, the big and fast changes we see now are mostly because of us. If we want to slow down climate change, we need to do things differently. We need to use cleaner energy, protect our forests, change how we farm, reduce industrial emissions, and create less waste. It's a big job, but it's important for our future.
