Honestly, the trickiest part of the first aid lesson was understanding how to properly immobilize a fracture. It's hard to visualize securing a splint correctly without hands-on practice, and I worry about making the injury worse if I do it wrong. I also found it a little confusing to differentiate between when to use a tourniquet for severe bleeding versus simply applying direct pressure. It's hard to determine how severe a wound has to be to warrant a tourniquet.Recognizing these areas of confusion is important because, in a real emergency, hesitating or making the wrong choice can have serious consequences for the injured person. By identifying what I don't fully understand and seeking additional practice and clarification, I can be better prepared and more confident in providing effective first aid when it matters most.
