Ang daungan na ito ay nagsisilbing pangunahing gateway para sa mga kalakal na papasok at lalabas ng bansa.- Agrikultura: Ang Batangas ay isang pangunahing rehiyon ng agrikultura sa Pilipinas. Ito ay nagbibigay ng maraming produkto tulad ng palay, mais, gulay, at prutas. Ang mga produktong ito ay ipinagbibili sa iba't ibang bahagi ng bansa at sa ibang mga bansa.- Industriya: Mayroon ding ilang mga industriya sa Batangas, tulad ng paggawa ng sapatos, damit, at mga produktong pang-agrikultura.
