reflection"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” QUESTION: In your opinion, why is this verse so well-known and so much loved? And what does it mean to perish and not have eternal life? So, if God really loves the whole world, how can he allow so many to perish? Is this inconsistent with his love for the world? Justify your answer.

This verse is so well-known and so much loved because it has a simple wording but it has a deep meaning. It speaks to everyone, regardless of background, making it relatable and accessible. God's love is unconditional and He really loves the whole world. He didn't allow many to perish, so this is not inconsistent with His love for the world. God offered salvation to everyone, He invites everyone to believe in Him. It is our choice to believe in Him and to accept His gift of eternal life. Other people chose their own path that leads them away from Him.
