Water naturally wants to flow down because of gravity. If the tank is higher than where the water is going (like a faucet), gravity pulls the water down and out of the tank. Think of it like a slide at a playground—the water is sliding down from the tank.Inside the tank, there’s a lot of water pushing down from above. This is called pressure. The pressure helps push the water out when the valve is open. The more water in the tank, the more pressure there is, which means the water flows out faster. When the valve is open, it creates a path for the water to escape. If the valve was closed, the water couldn’t flow out. But with the valve open, the water can easily move from the tank into the pipes and out wherever it’s needed, like into your sink or garden.
