Day 2: MAKING ANNOTATION. This checklist will only serve as your guide. As you re-read the poem, do the following annotation strategies on the copy you have in your English notebook. ☐ Number the stanzas and lines of the poem. Identify the rhyme scheme of each stanza. Highlight any unfamiliar words. Put a small question mark (?) on the top side of the word to indicate unfamiliarity. Then look them up in a dictionary and note down the definition beside each. Encircle the word or phrase that seems important to interpret such as metaphors or symbols that the author used in the text. Note the meaning of the word or phrase somewhere near the stanza it belongs. In a box connected to the title, make a list of themes or central messages you can figure out from the poem. Add other important details in the margins as your notes in understanding the text.

Answer: The Tapestry of Love Threads of laughter, woven tight,A tapestry of family, bathed in light. Each thread a story, whispered low,Of love that grows, and learns to flow. From childhood dreams, to teenage strife,Through joys and tears, we weave our life.A hand to hold, a shoulder near,The comfort of a love held dear. The tapestry expands, with time's embrace,New threads of love, a different space.Grandparents' wisdom, woven in,A legacy of love, where we begin.
