because, you don't know what they might be capable of. Some people have a lot of hidden talents, habits and other more... (If this is about opinion, then you might just well use this one but, if you don't want to then just don't)
Overall, it's generally better to approach others with an open mind and evaluate their abilities based on their actual performance rather than preconceived notions.
